Conway Issues Ban On Outdoor Burning

The ban was put in place due to an "extreme fire danger from low humidity."

The city of Conway has issued a ban on outdoor burning.

The ban was put in place due to an “extreme fire danger from low humidity.”

It comes after the South Carolina Forestry Commission asked residents to use “extreme caution” during outdoor burning because dry air and increased winds were forecast to impact fire conditions.

The ban prohibits the burning of piles of yard debris, bonfires, fields, yards and ditches. Anyone with questions regarding the burn ban is asked to contact the Conway Fire Department.
