Shrimp Boat Catches Fire Off North Myrtle Beach Coast
No injuries were reported as the boat crew was rescued and transported back to shore.
A boat sank off the coast of North Myrtle Beach Monday.
The 48-foot shrimp boat caught fire around 4pm, nearly a half-mile from the Cherry Grove Pier.
No injuries were reported as the boat crew was rescued and transported back to shore.
The Coast Guard was forced to issue a “safety marine information broadcast notifying mariners of the potential hazard to navigation.”
Several fire crews and police units responded to the incident. Authorities have not identified the owner of the boat.
