The main memorial in Tel Aviv is planned for the evening. It is organized by the affected families and separate from a ceremony that the government is set to hold next week. The split in the ceremonies reflects deep divisions within the region.
Israel and Hamas continue to participate in indirect peace talks in Egypt, but have yet to reach an agreement on a ceasefire.
