Trump To Send Troops To Portland
Oregon Gov. Kotek responded by claiming that Trump is abusing his authority saying that the city is doing "just fine" on its own.
President Trump announced plans to send troops to Portland, Oregon.
The president said that he plans to send the troops “authorizing full force, if necessary” to handle “domestic terrorists” as he expands his deployments to more American cities. Oregon Gov. Kotek responded by claiming that Trump is abusing his authority saying that the city is doing “just fine” on its own.
Trump said the decision was necessary to protect ICE facilities, which he alleged are “under siege from attack by Antifa, and other domestic terrorists.” The White House did not provide additional details, such as a timeline for the deployment or what troops would be involved.
