New Sawmill To Open In Horry County

The company plans to invest over $10 million and provide 18 new jobs.

A new sawmill is set to open in Horry County and is expected to support loggers.

The Galivants Ferry Sawmill plans to open a new facility that will help loggers in surrounding areas. The goal is to alleviate the changes brought on by the closing of the Georgetown and surrounding mills.

It will also help supply railroad ties, pallet manufacturers, landscapers, wastewater treatment facilities and businesses that utilize waste fiber in their boilers.

The company plans to invest over $10 million and provide 18 new jobs. The facility will be located outside of Aynor. It has been undergoing construction for nearly a year.
