Coroner Identifies 38-Year-Old As Victim Of Fatal Hit-And-Run

38-year-old Emanuel Trotter was struck around 10:30 on Sunday.

The victim of a fatal hit-and-run in Darlington County has been identified.

38-year-old Emanuel Trotter was struck around 10:30 on Sunday. He was walking along Society Hill Road near Lawson Road on the bridge crossing Black Creek when he was hit by an unknown vehicle.

It was reported that Trotter is known for walking everywhere he went, sometimes covering many miles in a single day.

An investigation is underway as the suspected driver remains at large. Anyone with information is urged to contact the S.C. Highway Patrol.
