Colorado High School Shooting Injures Two Students

Responding officers found the shooter within five minutes of arriving and pronounced them dead.

A gunman opened fire at a Colorado high school Wednesday.

Shortly after noon, an armed student fired shots both inside and outside the Evergreen High School building in Evergreen, around 30 miles outside of Denver.

Responding officers found the shooter within five minutes of arriving and pronounced them dead due to self-inflicted injuries. No officials were forced to fire shots during the incident.

Before that, the shooter wounded two other students, one who is in critical condition. The second suffered non-life threatening injuries and has since been released from the hospital.

The identities of those involved have not been publicly released at this time. Further details are limited as investigators work to learn more.

Several schools in the surrounding areas have cancelled classes for the rest of the week.
