Man Arrested Following Florence Co. Standoff

On Wednesday night, police responded to a shots fired call on Pine Needles Road.

One man is behind bars following a standoff situation in Florence County.

On Wednesday night, police responded to a shots fired call on Pine Needles Road. Officers were patrolling in the area when the shots rang out.

Upon arrival, a woman informed the authorities that her boyfriend fired shots at her, but she was not harmed. When the deputies approached the home to speak with the suspect, he ran inside and barricaded himself.

Following a stand-off and negotiation, 43-year-old Joshua Poston was arrested and charged with pointing a firearm at a person, discharging a firearm into an occupied vehicle, possessing a weapon during a violent crime, high and aggravated domestic violence, and attempting to use a weapon of mass destruction for an act of terrorism.

Poston is being held at the Florence County Detention Center awaiting a bond hearing.
