Trump Appoints Jim O’Neill As Acting Director Of The CDC
Jim O'Neill's new position comes just a day after Susan Monarez was ousted.
The Trump administration has tapped Jim O’Neill to serve as acting director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention agency.
O’Neill is the current deputy Health and Human Services secretary. His new position comes just a day after Susan Monarez was ousted.
Monarez is contesting her firing. Her attorneys argue that she was fired for putting the public first over a political agenda.
The White House claims she was removed due to her intentions of preventing the ‘Make America Healthy Again’ movement from being implicated.
Monarez was fired after several other CDC top officials resigned as well. The move prompted opposers to rally outside the agency’s headquarters.
