CDC Director Susan Monarez Ousted By White House

The White House alleged that she is not "aligned with" President Trump's agenda.

The director of the nation’s top public health agency has been ousted by the White House.

CDC Director Susan Monarez was fired after less than one month on the job. The White House alleged that she is not “aligned with” President Trump’s agenda and refused to resign, which led to her termination.

Monarez’s attorney argued that she was targeted after refusing to “rubber-stamp unscientific, reckless directives and fire dedicated health experts.” They added, “she chose protecting the public over serving a political agenda. for that, she has been targeted.”

However, the White House claims her direction was not on par with Trump’s ‘Make America Healthy Again’ goal. Her departure coincided with the resignations of at least four top CDC officials that occurred this week.
