Trump has publicly floated the idea of military deployment to expand his efforts to combat crime in cities nationwide.

Armed National Guard troops have been patrolling Washington, D.C. since earlier this month after Trump declared a crime emergency in the nation’s capital.

The White House has provided consistent updates on its impact. The results include a long list of arrests and seizures.

Moving forward, Trump is seeking to send a few thousand troops to Chicago as soon as September to patrol the city’s streets.

“Mr. President, do not come to Chicago. you are neither wanted here nor needed here,” Pritzker said.
