Santee Cooper Customers May See New Charge On Monthly Bill
The charge is incurred by the utility company between 2020 and 2024 that were previously uncollected.
Santee Cooper customers can expect to see a new charge on their monthly bills.
The new line will be labeled as ‘Deferred Cost Recovery.’
The charge is incurred by the utility company between 2020 and 2024 that were previously uncollected. It comes after a court decision allowed Santee Cooper to recover these costs over a 10-year period.
The company stated that by spreading the recovery over a decade, the impact on customers’ monthly bills will be limited to less than 4%, which adds up to an average increase of less than $5 per month for a typical residential customer.
