Man Denied Bond In Connection To Fatal Stabbing

We now have additional details in connection to a fatal stabbing that unfolded in Florence.
On Tuesday morning, police responded to an apartment complex along N. Coit Street.
Upon arrival, 23-year-old Crislyn McFarlan of Hartsville was found deceased. She had two stab wounds to her neck and shoulder.
While on the scene, officers found a yellow-handled knife as well as the victim and suspect in a puddle of blood.
Michael Smith is accused of not calling for help or rendering any aid to McFarlan after the stabbing.
The pair were the only two in the apartment at the time and were reportedly in a romantic relationship.
Smith did not provide any statements to police and he was not injured.
After further investigation, Smith now faces charges of murder and possession of a weapon during a violent crime. He was arrested and denied bond.
