Suspect Faces 74 Charges After Plowing Through Crowd With Vehicle
If convicted, he faces multiple sentences of life in state prison.
The man accused of intentionally plowing through a crowd in Los Angeles has been charged.
29-year-old Fernando Ramirez drove through a crowd of people that were waiting outside of a night club in East Hollywood on Saturday. The crash occurred after the suspect had been removed from the establishment.
37 victims were injured during the incident, eight of which suffered “great bodily injury,” such as serious fractures and lacerations. Following the crash bystanders pulled ramirez from the vehicle, beat him up and shot him in the back. The suspect who pulled the trigger remains at large.
Ramirez was taken to a hospital and underwent surgery before he was detained. He now faces 37 counts of attempted murder and 37 counts of assault with a deadly weapon totaling to 74 charges. If convicted, he faces multiple sentences of life in state prison.
