Four Sentenced In Connection To 2023 Murder Case

Corey Soles' body was discovered deceased near Green Sea Road in Galivants Ferry.

Four people have been sentenced in connection to a missing person investigation which led to murder charges.

On January 10, 2023, Corey Soles was reported missing. Six days later, his body was discovered deceased near Green Sea Road in Galivants Ferry. He was struck with an object several times, causing extreme bodily injury leading to his death.

An investigation led to the arrests of several people. Samantha Watts was arrested on drug charges and later pleaded guilty to murder. She was sentenced to 45 years in prison.

Watts’ son Payton also pleaded guilty to murder and was sentenced to 35 years. Her daughter, Amber, was charged with accessory after the fact and sentenced to six years in prison and five years probation.

Watts’ other son Johnathan, pled guilty to assault and battery in first degree, he was credited a 908-days for time already served under the Youthful Offender Act.

A motive was not publicly released. Two others have been arrested including Ryan Porter and Joshua Brown.
