Trump Plans To Send More Weapons To Ukraine

"We're going to send some more weapons. We have to. They have to be able to defend themselves," Trump said.

President Trump said that his administration is planning to send additional defense weapons to Ukraine amid its war with Russia.

“We’re going to send some more weapons. We have to. They have to be able to defend themselves,” Trump said.

Trump said the shipments will consist of “defensive weapons, primarily.” He added it comes as Ukraine is “getting hit very hard” and “so many people are dying in that mess.”

Russia is says the move does not align with attempts to promote a peaceful resolution as the U.S. is claiming to do.

Since February 2022, the U.S. has provided ukraine with tens of billions of dollars in weapons and other assistance after Russia launched a full-scale invasion of the country.

Last week, the White House confirmed it had decided to halt some shipments to Ukraine as part of a broader review of weapons transfers to other countries.

The move to conduct another shipment came as Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu held discussions.
