Summer Safety Advice with the Myrtle Beach Fire Department

We’re approaching the 4th of July, and Capt. Jonathan Evans of the Myrtle Beach Fire Department is reminding people to be safe if you plan on having your own fireworks display. Although it’s best to view tem in a professional show setting.
Commerical properties and the beach are off limits for fireowkrs displays.
The cutoff for shooting fireworks is 10:00pm except for 4th of July and New Year’s Eve.
The Myrtle Beach Fire Department is also hiring! Friday June 20th to July 7th, they will be accepting applications. Applicants have to be at least 18 years old by the start of classes in October, have a high school diploma, and a clean criminal record to apply. All classes will be taught during a 26-week recruit school at their training academy or HGTC Grand Strand Campus.
