Florence House Fire Turns Fatal Killing One Person

A fire in Florence resulted in the death of one person and left another injured.
Shortly after noon Tuesday, Florence fire and police departments responded to the 600 block of West Sumter Street where smoke and flames were visible from the front of a home.
The flames were under control within minutes. The incident lead to road closures as crews worked the scene.
One person was pronounced dead and another individual escaped before crews arrived. They were evaluated for injuries but are ok.
Police ruled the cause as “accidental.” The identities of those impacted have not been publicly released.
