Toyota has placed a recall on over 443,000 vehicles.
The recall covers 2022 to 2025 model year Tundra and Tundra Hybrid trucks.
A report by the NHTSA said that the multi-layer vent patch in the reverse light assemblies may separate over time due to thermal cycling, compromising the adhesive and allowing moisture to enter.
The moisture could lead to corrosion of the internal circuit board, connector, or wire harness causing failure of the light to illuminate.
The issue could limit the driver’s rear visibility and leave others on the road without a clear signal that the trucks are in reverse, posing the risk of crash.
Dealers will replace the reverse lamp free of charge.
