Arrest Made In Fatal Hit And Run In Myrtle Beach

A victim was struck at the intersection of 10th Avenue South and Kings Highway.

One man has been arrested following a fatal hit and run in Myrtle Beach.

Around 5:30am on Monday, a victim was struck at the intersection of 10th Avenue South and Kings Highway.

The pedestrian was found in the roadway and did not survive their injuries.

An investigation led to the arrest of 61-year-old John Stokes. He has been charged with traffic-hit and run, duties of driver involved in an accident with death after he admitted to hitting an “object” in the road, not stopping, and continuing to his destination.

Stokes was contacted after his vehicle was identified and he voluntarily agreed to an interview.
