Cucumbers Recalled Due To Salmonella Outbreak
They were sold across 15 states including North and South Carolina.
A recall has been placed on cucumbers due to a multi-state outbreak of salmonella infections.
The vegetables were grown by Bedner Growers Inc. based out of Florida and distributed by Fresh Start Produce Sales Inc..
The cucumbers have been distributed to restaurants, wholesalers, retailers and distribution centers since April 29. They were sold across 15 states including North and South Carolina.
A total of 26 people have reported being infected with salmonella. FDA investigators conducting a follow-up inspection of the cucumbers last month collected a sample that came back positive and “matched recent clinical samples from ill people.”
Consumers are urged to throw the products out and the FDA will continue to investigate.
