Town Of McColl Appoints New Police Chief

Billy Stubbs has been tapped to replace former chief Bob Hale, who resigned with the rest of the department in November.

The town of McColl has appointed a new police chief nearly six months after its entire force resigned.

Billy Stubbs has been tapped to replace former chief Bob Hale, who resigned with the rest of the department in November.

Stubbs was on the town’s police force from March 2011 until July 2020. He has also worked for the Marlboro County Sheriff’s Office since January of 2021.

Subbs’ law enforcement career kicked off in 2009 with the Bennettsville Police Department until 2011. His starting date with McColl will be June 9.
