At Least 28 Deaths Reported After Severe Weather Across Several States

At least 19 deaths were reported in Kentucky after a single tornado initially believed to have touched down at a EF3 strength overnight.

At least 28 people have died in result of severe weather across three states over the weekend.

At least 19 deaths were reported in Kentucky after a single tornado initially believed to have touched down at a EF3 strength overnight. 17 of the deaths were reported in Laurel County, one in Russell County, and one in Pulaski County. 10 people are also in critical condition.

Officials in Missouri reported seven weather-related deaths since Friday across two counties. Two people were killed in Virginia in separate incidents involving falling trees that struck vehicles.

In addition, more than 49,000 utility customers in Missouri and 26,000 in Kentucky were without power as of Sunday.

Crews across the states are still working to address the damage from the storms.
