Bank Employee Accused Of Stealing Nearly $80k From Customers

31-year-old Jillian Scott was a call representative for State Employees Credit Union.

A Lumberton bank employee is accused of stealing nearly $80,000 from customers.

31-year-old Jillian Scott was a call representative for State Employees Credit Union. She had access to personal identification information and account information of bank customers.

An investigation revealed that between november of 2018 and June of 2021, Scott made around 700 fraudulent CashApp transactions, 120 fraudulent PayPal transactions, and 47 bill pay transactions from the account of over 20 customers.

She created fake accounts with their Social Security numbers and paid herself.

The woman pleaded guilty Wednesday to bank fraud and misuse of Social Security numbers. She is set to be sentenced later this year and faces up to 35 years in prison.
