Officer Involved In Shooting That Left 11 Injured And One Dead

A fatal shooting involving a Myrtle Beach police officer unfolded on Saturday night.

The incident took place just before midnight in the 900 block of North Ocean Boulevard.

The police department said that “based on the immediate threat,” an officer shot one person.

That individual has been identified as 18-year-old Jerrius Davis. He did not survive his injuries.

Eleven others were injured during the incident as well.

The police department has launched an internal review, and SLED is also investigating, which is standard procedure in any officer involved shooting.
