Deadline Approaching For S.C. Residents To Obtain Real ID
The Real ID driver's license has a star in the right corner and a standard license without the star will not be accepted for domestic flights.
The TSA is reminding South Carolina residents of an upcoming deadline.
By May 7, South Carolinians will need a Real ID-compliant license or another acceptable form of ID if they want to board an airplane for a domestic flight.

Required documents for claiming your Real ID include,
- Passport
- U.S. Birth Certificate
- Proof of legal presence for non-U.S. citizens
- Two proofs of South Carolina residency
- Social Security card
- Current driver’s license if you’re exchanging one issued by another state
