A gunman opened fire at Florida State University Thursday.
At least six people are being treated for injuries at a hospital and two people have been confirmed dead.
The alleged gunman was identified as a student of the school named Phoenix Ikner. He is 20-years old. He reportedly began shooting around lunchtime near the student union building.
Ikner was shot by police and is currently being treated for injuries believed to be non-life threatening. A motive has not been revealed at this time.
The suspect is a son of Veteran Leon County Police Officer Jessica Ikner, who is now a school resource officer. The gunman opened fire with her former service weapon.
The investigation remains active.
