Bennettsville Council Appoints New Police Chief

Crosland is bringing 28 years of law enforcement experience to his new role. He will officially take over on May 1.

The Bennettsville city council has appointed a new police chief.

Former Assistant Police Chief Sammy Crosland was unanimously voted into the position at Tuesday night’s meeting.

He has been serving as acting chief since March when Former Chief Kevin Miller retired after eight years on the job.

Crosland is bringing 28 years of law enforcement experience to his new role. He will officially take over on May 1.

“My heart and dedication to the city has always been true. We’re ready to go to work,” Crosland said.
