American Airline Planes Hit At Reagan Washington National Airport

Among those onboard were at least three members of congress. No injuries were reported.

Another plane incident occurred at Reagan Washington National Airport on Thursday.

Around 12:45pm, American Airlines flight 5490 was on a path to Charleston when it struck American flight 4522 that was bound for New York.

The two collided on the runway when one of the jets wing tipped the other. There were 76 passengers and four crew members on the S.C. bound flight. 67 passengers and four crew members were on the flight heading for New York.

Among those onboard were at least three members of congress. No injuries were reported and all the passengers were transferred to separate flights.

The FAA is investigating the latest incident that is expected to intensify scrutiny over how air traffic is handled at Reagan National.
