Florence Fire Prompts Motel Evacuation
The cause of the fire was determined to be a faulty mechanical issue.
A fire prompted the evacuation of a motel Tuesday.
Firefighters observed heavy black smoke stemming from the roof of the Quality Inn and Suites located along Dunbarton Drive in Florence.
Two ladder trucks were situated on each side of the building. Crews used them to access the flames that were coming from the attic.
The fire was under control within 40 minutes after crews arrived. No injuries were reported.
