Big Lots Stores To Reopen After Agreement Reached
Nine stores across six states are now set to reopen their doors on Thursday as part of the new deal.
After shutting down locations amid a months-long bankruptcy process, several Big Lots stores are set to reopen under new management.
Big Lots recently announced a sale agreement with Gordon Brothers Retail Partners. As part of the deal, Variety Wholesalers was set to acquire 200 to 400 Big Lots stores, which would retain the branding, and two distribution centers.
Nine stores across six states are now set to reopen their doors on Thursday as part of the new deal. One of the locations to reopen will be in Asheboro, North Carolina.
“We’re thrilled to bring the Big Lots brand back to life by offering more deals than ever, lots of famous brands and a new apparel department for the entire family,” CEO of Variety Wholesalers said.
The stores opening this week are the first of four planned reopening waves. The second wave will involve 55 locations scheduled to open on May 1. Remaining stores are expected to open throughout June.
