President Trump To Impose Tariffs On Nearly Every Foreign Country

President Trump announced sweeping tariffs on imports from nearly every country in the world.
The leader said he is placing elevated tariff rates on dozens of nations that trade with the United States. A 10% baseline tax on imports from all countries will be placed in response to what Trump has called an “economic emergency.”
The tariffs are being placed on countries that “threaten to dismantle much of the architecture of the global economy and trigger broader trade wars.”
The president said the move is designed to boost domestic manufacturing. It aims to bring in hundreds of billions in new revenue to the U.S. and restore fairness to global trade.
A 25% tariff on all foreign-made automobiles takes effect at midnight Thursday night. Then the 10% tariff on a slew of countries will go into effect Friday.
Around 60 countries will face a higher reciprocal tariff, which will go into effect at midnight on April 9.
The latest tariffs have sparked major backlash and disapproval.
