Man Arrested After Standoff Situation In Robeson County

After a 30-minute standoff, 40-year-old Fabian Perez was apprehended.

One man was arrested after a standoff situation in Robeson County.

Shortly before 5pm on Sunday, police responded to Highway 301 North on reports of a woman being assaulted.

After a 30-minute standoff, 40-year-old Fabian Perez was apprehended. He was charged with first-degree kidnapping, felonious restraint, assault by strangulation, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, assault on a female and assault with a deadly weapon.

Perez is a multi-time convicted felon who is also charged with discharging a firearm into an occupied dwelling. That charge stems from him allegedly shooting into a random house along W. Parkton Tobermory road on Friday.

Perez is being held at the Robeson County Detention Center on a $501,000 secured bond.
