If You Eat a Meal in 20 Minutes or Less, You Need to Slow Down
Experts says there are risks with eating too fast.
Most people focus on the types of food they eat to improve their health. However, the speed at which you eat matters just as much. Scientists say that if you finish your food in less than 20–30 minutes, you’re eating too fast. This is because it takes about 20 minutes for the stomach to signal the brain that it’s full. They also warn that not chewing your food properly can compromise digestion, preventing you from absorbing all the nutrients. People who eat quickly are also more likely to swallow excess air, which can lead to bloating or digestive issues.
