Young Workers Are Taking “Mini-Retirement” Breaks From Their Careers
"Mini-retirements" are non-permanent breaks from the workforce that last anywhere from a few months to a few years.
Gen Z and Millennials are taking a stand when it comes to retirement. According to them, they prefer “mini-retirement” breaks sprinkled across their careers rather than waiting until old age. The shakeup is meant to capitalize on their youth instead of waiting for health or money issues in the future. Many also feel two weeks of vacation per year isn’t enough, so instead they are saving up to quit their jobs and take months or even years off working. They believe these longer breaks will help them avoid burn out and come back refreshed and ready to work.
