Fires Continue Scorching Acres Across The Carolinas

After not being able to fly Wednesday due to weather conditions, airplanes and helicopters have resumed dropping water on the Carolina Forest Fire.

The state’s burn ban was lifted Wednesday for every county except for Georgetown and Horry as rain improved wildfire conditions in most places.
In addition, officials listed 96 wildfires in North Carolina as of Wednesday totaling over 1,600 acres.
The largest active fire in the state is in Polk County and has spread over 600 acres but is 91% contained.
