18-Year-Old Motorcyclist Dies During Police Pursuit

A South Carolina Highway Patrol trooper attempted to pull over a motorcycle in which the driver refused to stop.

An 18-year-old motorcyclist died in Horry County Wednesday.

Around 4:30pm a South Carolina Highway Patrol trooper attempted to pull over a motorcycle in which the driver refused to stop.

The motorcyclist continued through the intersection of Highways 544 and 814.

They collided with a vehicle before striking another vehicle.

One person was taken to a hospital to be treated for non-life threatening injuries.

The motorcyclist did not survive the injuries they sustained. He was identified as 18-year-old Lane Atiff.

The crash is under investigation.
