Pentagon Releases New Policy Regarding Transgender Troops
Any service members processed for separation would be “afforded all statutorily required rights and benefits.”
The Pentagon has released its new policy for transgender troops to serve in the military.
The memo requires military members to demonstrate they have never attempted to transition to any sex other than the one they were born as.
It also directs the military to identify transgender service members by March 26 and “separate” or remove those who don’t obtain waivers by June 25.
Any service members processed for separation would be “afforded all statutorily required rights and benefits.”
Currently, the military has halted recruitment of transgender troops, which was allowed under the Biden administration. However, it has not yet begun “separating” or removing transgender soldiers from service.
