Southwest Airline Plane Avoids Near Collision With Private Jet

The incidents come as the FAA is investigating major air traffic accidents that have happened over the past few months.

A Southwest Airline plane and a private jet experienced a close call in Chicago Tuesday.

The near accident unfolded at Chicago’s Midway International Airport.

The private jet entered a runway without authorization and forced a Southwest Airlines plane to abort its landing.

The flight crew had to perform a go-around to prevent a potential collision.

In addition, around 90 minutes before this incident, an American Airlines flight was forced to cancel its landing at Reagan National in Washington D.C. to avoid a departing plane.

No injuries were reported from either incident but they come as the FAA is investigating major air traffic accidents that have happened over the past few months.
