Trump Proposes U.S. To Take Ownership Of The Gaza Strip
“We’ll own it and be responsible for dismantling all of the dangerous unexploded bombs and other weapons on the site," Trump said.
President Trump is facing backlash after making a certain proposal.
The Republican announced a proposition for the United States to “take over” the Gaza Strip and permanently resettle its Palestinian residents.
“We’ll own it and be responsible for dismantling all of the dangerous unexploded bombs and other weapons on the site, level the site, and get rid of the destroyed buildings, level it out, create an economic development that will supply unlimited numbers of jobs,” Trump said.
The suggestion came at a White House conference with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who appeared to approve the plan to build new settlements for Palestinians outside the Gaza Strip, and for the U.S. to take “ownership” in redeveloping the war-torn territory.
Prime ministers and leaders of other countries have expressed concerns regarding the plan.
