Over 340,000 Kitchen Scales Sold Online Recalled
The scales were packaged with two lithium coin batteries, one pre-installed and one spare battery.
A recall has been placed on over 340,500 products sold online.
The recall covers Greater Goods Digital Kitchen Scales that were sold through Amazon, Walmart and other retailers.
The scales were packaged with two lithium coin batteries, one pre-installed and one spare battery.
The recall comes because the spare battery is not in child-resistant packaging and the battery door on the scale failed to meet the requirements of a certain law by not being secured with a screw, posing an ingestion hazard.
The packaging also lacked the standard warning message for items using a coin battery.
Greater Goods is offering free replacement doors for customers whose scales are affected.
