Google Maps To Change “Gulf Of Mexico” To “Gulf Of America”
The changes come after President Trump announced the new names as part of several executive actions after taking office.
Google announced plans to change two names on it’s Google Maps.
The “Gulf of Mexico” will soon be referred to as the “Gulf of America.”
The change will be visible in the U.S., but the name will remain the same in Mexico. Outside of the two countries, users will see both names on Google Maps.
The Alaskan peak “Denali,” the tallest mountain in North America, will now be called “Mount McKinley.”
The changes come after President Trump announced the new names as part of several executive actions after taking office.
Google Maps said the new names will be visible once it is officially updated in the U.S. Geographic Names System.
