Sometimes, as a parent, you have to slightly exaggerate warnings to get your kids to behave. People on Reddit are sharing some of the things they were told were dangerous that they later found out weren’t true. Some include swallowing gum, which they were told would stay in their digestive system for seven years; making a face, because it would get stuck that way; turning on the overhead light in the car, which they were told was illegal; and eating an apple core, which they believed would cause trees to grow in their stomach.
