The Home Shopping Network has placed a recall on around 328,000 smoke alarms sold in stores nationwide and online.

The recall covers Samurai-branded white-and-silver plastic mini smoke alarms model number SMI.

The products are being recalled due to possible malfunction which could result in the alarms failing to alert users of a fire.

The issue poses the risk of smoke inhalation or death.

There have been eight reports of the detectors failing to activate in the presence of smoke.

The products were sold from July 2020-November 2024.

People who purchased the recalled alarms should contact HSN for a replacement.
