The suspect was taken into custody and charged with possession of a firearm on school property.

An altercation on a Georgetown County school’s campus led to the arrest of an assistant basketball coach.

Around 6:30pm Wednesday, police were called to Georgetown High School on reports of a disturbance situation at the school’s gym.

The incident involved two coaches, one in which left the gym, retrieved a handgun from his vehicle, and attempted to re-enter the building.

64-year-old Timothy Hallman was then stopped at the door by bystanders who asked him to leave, which he did.
