Man Facing A Slew Of Charges After Myrtle Beach Barricade Incident

When police arrived, 30-year-old Devante Green barricaded himself and refused to surrender.

A man is now facing several charges after a barricade situation unfolded Tuesday near downtown Myrtle Beach.

The incident occurred shortly before 7pm in the 300 block of 9th Avenue North. It involved someone pointing and presenting a firearm.

When police arrived, 30-year-old Devante Green barricaded himself and refused to surrender. He was eventually taken into custody around 9:40pm.

Green is being charged with kidnapping, five counts of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, discharging a firearm in city limits, possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime, burglary, and four separate drug charges.

Further details have not been publicly released.

Green is being held at the Myrtle Beach Jail and is set to appear in court on February 6.
