IRS Free File Program Set To Open Soon

Each tax software company in partnership with the IRS establishes its own eligibility to use their free version, including, age, income, state residency, and military status.

To access IRS Free File, tax payers must visit the ‘Free File’ page on irs.gov. From there, users can explore their software options and begin preparing their returns.

The agency will not begin processing returns until later this month, but early filers’ returns will be held securely until then.
