Wanted Man Who Escaped Is Now Back In Custody

49-year-old William Cooper reportedly escaped custody while in the process of being arrested for second-degree domestic violence.

A 24-hour manhunt in Georgetown County has now come to an end.

On Monday, 49-year-old William Cooper reportedly escaped custody while in the process of being arrested for second-degree domestic violence.

Efforts to track Cooper with K9s were unsuccessful. Around 5pm drones were deployed over the area of Watford Place to aid in the search.

The Williamsburg County Sheriff’s Office assisted with the process.

On Tuesday, the suspect surrendered himself to authorities.

Cooper will now be booked into the Georgetown County Detention Center and charged with resisting arrest in addition to the domestic violence charge.
