Ford Places Recall On Over 295,000 Pickup Trucks

Owners can take their trucks to dealers that will fix the issue with a software update

Ford has issued a recall on over 295,000 pickup trucks.

The recall covers F-250, F-350, F-450, F-550 and F-600 Super Duty models that are equipped with diesel engines and fueled with biodiesel.

The recall was issued because if the trucks sit unused, biodiesel deposits can form inside the fuel pump. These deposits can cause pump components to fail when restarted.

“Customers may experience extended crank while starting, a check engine light, noise, and reduced engine power,” Ford said.

Owners can take their trucks to dealers that will fix the issue with a software update, which will increase pump cooling that will stop the deposits from forming.
