Two-Vehicle Crash In Marlboro Co. Results In Death Of One Person

A Ford pickup was traveling north on Highway 9 when it struck the Nissan on the driver's side.

A two-vehicle crash in Marlboro County resulted in the death of one person.

Around 4:50pm Sunday, police responded to the accident that happened along Highway 9 at Hickory Grove Road near Bennettsville.

A Nissan Sedan was heading west on Hickory Grove when it attempted to turn left onto Highway 9. Meanwhile, a Ford pickup was traveling north on Highway 9 when it struck the Nissan on the driver’s side.

The driver of the Nissan was pronounced dead on the scene but the driver of the Ford was not injured.

Both were the only occupants of the vehicles involved.

The crash is now under investigation.
